Lofoten fishery has meant everything to Lofoten and very much for Norway. Adventurous wealth has given the cod, but also failure and doom. Lofoten fishery has also given superstition and story-telling, Lofoten's wonderland. The day does Lofoten fishing a lot and yearly harvest is around forty million kg cod which largely dried and exported to Italy.

 

Many come to experience deep sea fishing and for those who live on the bay HattvikaLodge, there are also opportunities for day trips with experienced skipper. We work with several local fishermen who take you out at sea. If you visit us during the fishing season you can catch their own fish and hang it on the racks to come back in the summer for their own fishing stockfish, or do you save it for Christmas?

 

Hattvika Lodge is located in a real fisherman cottage environment that oozes history and rented out to visitors seeking adventure in one authentic fisherman's cottages environment. Hattvika Lodge are happy to assist with arranging for the best experience when you visit us! Fishing trips must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. They are subject to a minimum of 4 persons over 16 years. The tour lasts approximately 2-3 hours depending on weather, wind and fishing conditions. The tour starts from the pier and time is agreed for each tour.
